Miles Davis was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer known for his unique sound and approach to improvisation. He was born in Alton, Illinois in 1926 and began playing the trumpet at a young age. Davis was one of the most influential and innovative musicians of the 20th century, popularizing modal jazz with his landmark album “Kind of Blue” (1959). He continued to experiment with different styles throughout his career and worked with many other influential musicians. Davis was also known for his distinctive fashion sense and charismatic personality. He passed away in 1991.
