Django Reinhardt (1910-1953) was a pioneering Belgian-born jazz guitarist and composer. Born in Liberchies, Belgium, Reinhardt overcame a debilitating hand injury to establish a unique style of gypsy jazz. His virtuosic performances, often with the Quintette du Hot Club de France, showcased his innovative chord structures and rapid-fire solos. Reinhardt’s compositions, including “Nuages” and “Minor Swing,” remain jazz standards. His singular approach to guitar and his enduring influence solidify his status as a jazz icon.
