The Pocket Protector – Vintage Photographs

In today’s day and age, we focus a lot on the quality of the images and rate cameras by the number of pixels they can display.

Vintage Photography shows, that sharpness, and noise isn’t everything in a photo. Those antique photographs have their own character and specific style. We should be a little more relaxed today because some minor mistakes or “imperfections” can create a wonderful individual character.

Even a wet and soggy day couldn’t stop dog lovers from attending the 23rd annual St Ives Championship Dog Show. Dubbed one of the biggest dog shows in the southern hemisphere, it was part of the Royal Karing-gai Agricultural Society’s Show at St Ives, Sydney.

The show drew plenty of people for a weekend, and Australian PIX magazine sent a photographer to catch the action. The photographer chose to look behind the scenes. The mud and rain provided opportunities for capturing shots that clearly expressed the relationship between people and their pets.

These classic photos brought to life images only previously seen reproduced in half-tones on faded news magazine stock.
