Augustus Jansson (1866–1931) was an illustrator and cartoonist born in Massachusetts to Swedish parents, who went on to become a celebrated graphic artist and illustrator. Between 1903 to 1907, Augustus Jansson began a seven-year working period for Queen City Publishing. During this time, he created many bold full-page layouts, including the renowned Ink Beasts Parade—home to unforgettable characters like the orange-yellow Ibexiatucus and the Magenta Ponies. He also produced a charming series of doll-like figures for Queen City. These advertisements were striking, often considered ahead of their time, and carry a distinctive art deco feel.
This smooth matte art print will elevate your studio, reading nook, gallery wall, or creative workspace with timeless energy and classic advertising charm. Add this Augustus Jansson favorite to your cart and bring home a striking slice of design history from our shop.
