Tom Jobim

Tom Jobim (1927-1994) was a Brazilian musician, composer, and arranger, and one of the key figures of the bossa nova movement. He wrote numerous classic songs, including “The Girl from Ipanema,” and helped popularize bossa nova around the world. Jobim’s music was characterized by its gentle, melodic sound and fusion of Brazilian rhythms with jazz harmonies. He also advocated for environmental conservation and is remembered as one of the most important figures in Brazilian music history.
