June Christy & Bob Cooper

June Christy was an American jazz singer known for her smooth vocal style, and Bob Cooper was a saxophonist, arranger, and composer. They both played with Stan Kenton’s orchestra in the 1940s and 1950s and collaborated on several recordings. Their works showcased Christy’s vocals and Cooper’s arrangements, characterized by rich harmonic palettes and keen orchestration. They produced several albums together, including “The Cool School” and “The Ballad Collection,” which remain highly regarded by jazz enthusiasts.
